Smithtown Building Closed
Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild. Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. Holiday Closing
In observance of Thanksgiving, the Library will be closed Thursday, November 28. We will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 9:30am.
Join us in playing some fun games. This program is geared towards patrons 18 years and older with sensory issues, those on the autism spectrum or those who have other specific needs.
Bubbles are fun, but do you know how they are made? Learn about the science behind bubbles and join us for an outdoor bubble party! Dress to make a mess. In case of rain, this program will meet in the Community Room.

Help aid local food pantries by planting, tending and harvesting vegetables in the Library’s garden bed. Meet us in the lobby to head out to the garden together. In the event of rain, this program will be held in the Community Room.
Decorate sea shells to raise awareness for cleaner beaches and oceans here on Long Island. We will paint shells to be spread across local beaches. Each teen will earn one hour of community service.

The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Friday, August 9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.
Telephone, online and in person registration begins two months prior to program date. Open to all adult drivers regardless of age. Please bring your license to class.
