Smithtown Building Closed

Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild.  Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. The world of library materials is as close as your mailbox with The Smithtown Library's Homebound Mail Service designed for patrons who cannot come to the Library due to a temporary or permanent condition. Upon request, an application for this program will be mailed to your home, or you can download the form from this page and send the completed application to the Library. Once you are registered, you may request specific titles or the Librarian will choose items for you based on the interest areas you have selected. Items are mailed to your home in a special bag. You pay no postage for this free service, which is available to all qualified residents of the Smithtown Special Library District.

For more information on eligibility and other aspects of the program, call the Reference Desk at your local building.
