February 12 - September 30, 2024
The Smithtown Library is excited to announce Smithtown Grows' fourth season. Patrons with an adult Smithtown Library card can come into any of our four buildings to get seed packets for their gardens.
We are excited for you to grow with us!
What is a Seed Library?
In simple terms, a Seed Library is just how it sounds-it loans seeds to gardeners.
A Seed Library works much like a traditional library. The benefits of a seed lending library are many: it is a way to have fun, build community with fellow gardeners and support people who are new to the world of gardening.
How Does it Work?
- Each patron is allowed a maximum of 25 seed packets (1 packet per seed type).
- There is a maximum of one bundle of each type per patron.
- A valid adult Smithtown Library card is required to participate in this program.
- Seed packets will be available at Reference Desk at each of our buildings.
- Packets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
