Teen Volunteer Opportunities
Can’t fit our volunteer opportunities into your schedule?
The Smithtown Library now offers one-hour volunteer sessions by appointment! Teens in grades 6-12 can spend time at the Library working on a variety of projects to help make a difference in our community. Teens may schedule up to two time slots per month. Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Help aid local food pantries by planting, tending and harvesting vegetables in the Library’s garden bed. Meet us in the lobby to head out to the garden together. In the event of rain, this program will be held in the Community Room.
Teach younger children how to play chess and checkers. You do not have to be an expert to volunteer but knowledge of the rules is required. Each teen will receive one hour of community service for participating.
Help children at our Around the World Adventure Carnival! Teens must stay for the entire program to receive community service hours.
Help a younger child create a solar oven perfect for making s’mores in the hot summer sun. In the event of rain, this program will be held in the Community Room. Teens will receive one hour of community service.
