The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Friday, August 9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.

Join us to make seasonal decorations that will be donated to local nursing homes.

Join Pastry Chef, Judy, to make delicious homemade pop-tarts you can bake and enjoy at home.

Teen volunteers are needed to design and make bookmarks. Bookmarks will be sent to patrons who are enjoying The Smithtown Library's Homebound Mail Service. Each teen will receive one hour of community service.

Use paint chips and scrap paper to make your own colorful dry erase calendar to help keep you organized this school year.

Join our Local History Librarian and tour the Library's Long Island Room.  We will explore Long Island postcards, learn about local history and create our own postcards in the LearnLab.

Use tissue paper and mod podge to create colorful coasters. 

Grab your notebook and put on your Sherlock Holmes hat- there’s a mystery to be solved!  You’ll work with other detectives to solve an English Victorian era mystery.

Join us to discuss manga, watch anime and enjoy Japanese snacks.

Help aid local food pantries by planting, tending and harvesting vegetables in the Library’s garden bed. Meet us in the lobby to head out to the garden together. In the event of rain, this program will be held in the Community Room.

Come down with some friends and watch “The Sandlot.” Snacks will be provided.  PG, runtime 101 minutes.

The Smithtown Library proudly announces it's annual free outdoor summer concert series made possible by a Suffolk County Omnibus Grant obtained by Legislator Rob Trotta.  Bring your own chair or blanket.

Join the fun as we play the Nintendo Switch, retro video games, computer games and go head to head in VR with the MetaQuest. 3D Printing demos and pizza will complete the night.

Have you ever wanted to learn an instrument? Now's your chance! Learn the beginner basics of the ukulele in this fun and laidback workshop. You'll also have a chance to use your uke skills for a new volunteer opportunity this coming fall!

This meeting is open to the public.

Create a scrapbook to remember Summer 2024. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring pictures, ticket stubs, and other items to help personalize your project.
