Until further notice, the Smithtown Building will be closed.
Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild. Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. In observance of Thanksgiving, the Library will be closed Thursday, November 28. We will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 9:30am.

The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Friday, August 9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.
Teach younger children how to play chess and checkers. You do not have to be an expert to volunteer but knowledge of the rules is required. Each teen will receive one hour of community service for participating.
It’s time for a board meeting; play chess and checkers with our teen volunteers. A great opportunity to learn a new game or practice a favorite.
Have you always wanted to learn how to run your own Dungeons and Dragons campaign? This workshop will teach the basics of moderating, designing and narrating your own game. Dice and snacks will be provided.
