Smithtown Building Closed
Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild. Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. Holiday Closing
In observance of Thanksgiving, the Library will be closed Thursday, November 28. We will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 9:30am.
Nursery Rhyme Time
Enjoy a traditional time of nursery rhymes and songs for baby. A great introduction to the Library for the youngest of children!
Put on your hard hats and bring your little construction workers to build with all types of blocks.
Unplug and unwind with your little one. Engage in stories, fingerplays, rhymes and musical activities.

The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Saturday, August 12 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.
Learn the basics of hand building with clay and create your own your ceramic mug. Creations will be collected for drying, glazing and firing. Finished mugs will be ready to pick up 2-3 weeks after the workshop.
