Smithtown Building Closed
Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild. Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. Holiday Closing
In observance of Thanksgiving, the Library will be closed Thursday, November 28. We will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 9:30am.

The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Saturday, August 12 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.
Read to a younger book buddy. It is a rewarding experience that you won't want to miss. Each teen will receive one hour community service credit for participating.
Book Buddies is a program in which a child is paired with a teen for a rewarding reading experience.
Teen volunteers are needed to design and make bookmarks. Bookmarks will be sent to patrons who are enjoying The Smithtown Library's Homebound Mail Service. Each teen will receive one hour of community service.
Fancy yourself an artist and a chef? Use candy to make delicious works of art.
