Smithtown Building Closed
Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild. Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. Holiday Closing
In observance of Thanksgiving, the Library will be closed Thursday, November 28. We will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 9:30am.
Wonderful Ones
This action-packed program engages little ones in language-based activities includes free play, stories and fun.
Create a cute multipurpose clip that looks like a butterfly! This program is geared towards patrons 18 years and older with sensory issues, those on the autism spectrum or those who have other specific needs.
Help aid local food pantries by planting, tending and harvesting vegetables in the Library’s garden bed. Meet us in the lobby to head out to the garden together.
This evidence-based program for older adults emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. Participants will learn to reduce fall risks at home, set goals for increasing activity, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
We will read stories about this favorite dessert and then make a “cool” paper ice cream craft!

Nothing is more imaginative than building forts and nothings more magical than playing in forts! Bringing in old sheets is welcomed and encouraged, the more the better.

The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Saturday, August 12 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.
This program teaches the lifesaving skills of adult hands-only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant.
