Smithtown Building Closed

Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild.  Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. Program Description

Event Details

Have you ever considered what is beneath the surface of the ocean? Atlantic Marine Conservation Society biologists will introduce participants to the five ocean zones, or layers of the sea. We will discuss the different organisms found in each layer, the deepest point of the ocean, and the importance of ocean exploration. At the end of the presentation, we will do a hands-on activity where we will create our own ocean layers in a jar and see the differences in the colors between all of the ocean zones.
