Smithtown Building Closed

Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild.  Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. Holiday Closing

In observance of Thanksgiving, the Library will be closed Thursday, November 28.  We will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 9:30am.

Join us for a trip to the Green-Wood Cemetery and Industry City in Brooklyn. Enjoy a guided trolley tour to explore the Cemetery’s historic landscape and most fascinating permanent residents. If you have never been to Green-Wood, this is your opportunity to discover its 478 acres of art, history, and nature! You will tread where George Washington and his troops fought in the Battle of Brooklyn, visit the grave of one of America’s greatest artists, and more. After the Cemetery we will head over to Industry City where you will have time for lunch on your own and to explore this one-stop destination of experiences, eateries, events and everything in between. Meet at the Smithtown Building Parking lot at 7:15am to board the bus. We will depart Brooklyn at 4:00pm to return home. Registration begins on March 4 at 9:30am for Smithtown Library cardholders. Registration for non-Smithtown Library cardholders begins on March 19 at 9:30am. Fee includes Admission and tour of the cemetery, coach bus transportation and all gratuities.
