Smithtown Building Closed

Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild.  Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. Holiday Closing

In observance of Thanksgiving, the Library will be closed Thursday, November 28.  We will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 9:30am.

From the north shore to the south shore and out to the east end, Long Island is home to a nationally recognized and historic boat building industry. Nancy Solomon from Long Island Traditions explores the worlds of over 20 boat builders and 10 historic boatyards of Long Island, discussing the research and the current situations of some builders and boatyards today.
