Until further notice, the Smithtown Building will be closed.
Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild. Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. In observance of Thanksgiving, the Library will be closed Thursday, November 28. We will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 9:30am.
Keep on reading! 500 Books Before Middle School is an ongoing literacy program for elementary-age children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Children are encouraged to read (or have read to them) any book, earning prizes along the way! The goal is to read 500 books before entering middle school. Just reading 2 books a week equals 104 books a year, which is plenty of time to complete the challenge.
