Homework Helpers
Thursdays, November 30• 4:30-5:30pm

Thursdays, January 4, 11, 18 and 25• 4:30-5:30pm
Volunteers will work one-on-one with children in grades K-5 assisting them with homework and studying. All volunteers must submit an application and a letter of recommendation prior to the start of the program. The application is available at both the Adult and Children's Reference Desks at the Nesconset Branch. You must register for each date you wish to volunteer after submitted an application.
   
Gingerbread Houses for Teens 
Tuesday, December 12• 7:00-8:00pm
Create your very own Gingerbread House using a variety of candies and icings. Register
 
Paper Circuits-Holiday Cards Edition
Thursday, December 14• 7:00-8:00pm
Learn about circuitry basics using paper, flexible conductive material and lights. Make your own light-up holiday greeting cards with a special switch that electrifies an LED. Register
 
Chess Buddies Volunteers
Thursday, December 28• 6:30-7:30pm
Teach younger children how to play chess. You do not have to be a chess expert to volunteer. There will be a 30-minute tutorial at the beginning. Each teen will receive one hour of community service. Register
 
Library Buddies Volunteers
Friday, December 29• 10:45-11:45pm
Earn community service by being paired with a young child to assist him/her with reading and an art project. Each teen will receive one hour of community service. Register
 
Super Bowl Party with Chef Rob Scott
Monday, January 8• 6:30-7:30pm
Get pumped for the big game! Enjoy some Super Bowl snacks and play some indoor football games. Register
 
Cupcake Wars
Monday, January 8• 6:30-7:30pm
Compete against each other to create cupcakes that fit into different themes! Bring your creativity, imagination and your sweet tooth and we will supply the rest! Who will impress our panel of judges and win the ultimate Cupcake War? (This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies). Register 
 
SAT Review Class
Thursdays, January 18 and 25 and February 1 and 8• 6:00-8:00pm
Over 2 million students will be taking the SAT this year; if you're one of them, how prepared are you? This indispensable four-week course will be led by long-time SAT instructors. Includes study materials. Fee: $88 per person. Register
 
Teen Trivia 
Friday, January 26• 4:30-5:30pm
