Help feed our furry friends at the Smithtown Animal Shelter. We will prepare all ingredients for dog treats and you will take them home to bake. Return them to the Library within two days and earn two hours of community service. This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies.

Rebel all things Valentine’s Day. Snack, craft and play games as we host an unvalentine’s celebration.

Compete against each other to create cupcakes that fit into different themes! Bring your creativity, imagination and your sweet tooth and we will supply the rest! Who will impress our panel of judges and win the ultimate Cupcake War? This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies.

Rummaging through a tool box has never been this fun. Create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece using nuts, bolts and washers.

Join in with friends to play some board games such as Munchkin, Apples to Apples, Boss Monster and more. Enjoy snacks and beverages as we go head to head in some friendly gaming competition. This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies.

Over 2 million students will be taking the SAT this year; if you're one of them, how prepared are you? This indispensable four-week course will be led by long-time SAT instructors. Includes study materials. Fee: $88 per person.

Teen volunteers are needed to assist collecting and sorting donations, as well as, help maintain the Friends of The Smithtown Library Book Sale.
Chess Buddies Volunteers

Teach younger children how to play chess. You do not have to be a chess expert to volunteer but knowledge of the rules is required.

Volunteers in grades 9-12 will work one-on-one with children in grades K-5 assisting them with homework and studying. All volunteers must submit an application and a letter of recommendation prior to the start of the program. You must register for each date you wish to volunteer after submitting an application.
Tuesday, February 19 • 2:30-3:30pm
Teen volunteers will be cutting and putting together craft kits to give to local seniors in our community nursing homes.
Friday, February 22 • 2:15-3:15pm
Earn community service by being paired with a young child to assist him/her with reading and an art project.
