Nesconset Building Teen Programs
In-person, online and telephone registration for all September programs began on Monday, August 12.
Registration for October programs begins on September 9.
Registration is required unless otherwise noted.
Programs that require fees can be paid by credit card, cash, check or money order to The Smithtown Library.
Program fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Teen programs are open to those in grades 6-12 unless otherwise noted.

Teen volunteers are needed to assist collecting and sorting donations as well as helping to maintain the Friends of The Smithtown Library book sale. Please register for one session only.
Wednesday, September 18 • 4:00-4:45pm
Help feed our furry friends at the Smithtown Animal Shelter. We will prepare all ingredients for dog treats and you will take them home to bake. Return them to the Library within two days and earn two hours of community service. This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies.
Thursday, September 19 • 6:45-7:45pm
Saturday, October 12 • 2:45-3:45pm
Teach younger children how to play chess and checkers. You do not have to be an expert to volunteer but knowledge of the rules is required.
Tuesday, September 24 • 7:00-8:00pm
Join the Baking Coach in making different flavors of slime that will be gooey and gross enough to eat. This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies.
Thursday, September 26 • 4:30-5:30pm
Celebrate Banned Books Week by creating a work of art that shines a light on our freedom to read.
Saturday, September 28 • 11:30-12:30pm
Join us as we chew and chat about what we are reading this school year. We will highlight some of the new books in our teen collection and help choose new materials for the upcoming year. This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies.
Thursday, October 3 • 4:00-5:00pm
Come in and get your craft on. We will have different craft stations set up for you to create and enjoy.
Tuesday, October 8 • 4:00-5:00pm
Using paint and stencils, create a four-piece canvas set that will hang together to create a unified picture.
Thursday, October 10 • 7:30-8:30pm
Race against the clock to compete in decorative challenges using doughnuts and simple ingredients. This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies.
Thursday, October 17 • 4:30-5:30pm
Plug in and connect with younger students as you assist with homework, reaching reading goals and STEAM activities.
Saturday, October 19 • 11:00am-12:00pm
It's time for the Great Give Back. Help local soup kitchens get ready for Thanksgiving when you decorate placemats, centerpieces and roll silverware.
Saturday, October 26 • 11:00am-12:00pm
Honor our local troops and veterans by decorating cards for Veterans Day.
