Baby Steps

An open-ended playtime for you and your little one. Meet new families and friends while your baby is introduced to various sensory experiences through creative play.
 
Nursery Rhyme Time

Enjoy a traditional time of nursery rhymes and songs for baby. A great introduction to the Library for the youngest of children!
 
Wonderful Ones
(12-23 months with parent/caregiver)

This action-packed program engages little ones in language-based activities; includes free play, stories and fun! Siblings are welcome.
 
Time for Twos
(24-35 months with parent/caregiver)
Wednesday, September 22 • 11:00-11:45am
Visit the Library and enjoy building social skills in a relaxed, friendly environment; includes free play, songs, stories, and a craft. Siblings are welcome.
 
Library Playdate
(2-4 years with parent/caregiver)

Seize the play and keep the mess at our place! Join us for an informal play date - meet other children and families, while playing with toys and creating an art project.
 
Back to School Storytime

Peace Day is September 21, join us for stories celebrating the kindness within that creates a caring world. Make a colorful painting to decorate your home.
 
Chess and Checkers Buddies

It’s time for a board meeting; play chess and checkers with our teen volunteers. A great opportunity to learn a new game or practice a favorite.
 
Matt the Music Man
(For families with children under the age of 6)

It’s time to jam with Matt the Music Man! Feel the rhythm and rhyme in this one-of-a-kind multicultural concert filled with sing-a-longs and silliness.
 
Upcycled Owls
(5-7 years)

It’s a hoot when you join us for autumnal tales and collage an owl using repurposed materials.
 
Fantastic Photo Bookmarks
(8-12 years)
Saturday, September 4 • 11:00-11:45pm
Wear your favorite outfit and have us take your picture in a funny pose - and we will turn it into your own bookmark.

Take and Make - Brainy Babies
Nesconset Building
Learn new songs and finger plays while you bond with your little one. Brainy Baby kits are designed for children birth – 23 months and are available at the Nesconset Building on a first come, first served basis beginning August 31.
 
Take and Make – Pre-School Packs
Nesconset Building
Learn, play, create and grow. A new craft kit is available at the Nesconset Building every Monday in September, allowing your preschooler to exercise their fine motor skills, creativity and imagination. No registration required. Supplies are available on a first come, first served basis.
 
Take and Make – Create it Kits
Nesconset Building
Imagine, design and discover. A new craft kit is available at the Nesconset Building every Monday in September, allowing your school age child to grow creatively. No registration required. Supplies are available on a first come, first served basis.
