Design a Bookmark Contest
(Grades K-5)
Monday, June 17-Friday, August 9
Do you want to see your artwork in print? Enter our Design-a-Bookmark contest. Visit the Children’s Department of any branch to pick up an entry form. Twelve winning designs will be chosen to decorate our monthly bookmarks during 2020. Be creative; celebrate your favorite books, the adventure of reading of the Library. Use your imagination and have fun.
 
Baby Games

Bike Rodeo

Bring your bike and helmet to the Library and ride our safety track. Learn real world bicycle safety skills, such as where to ride on the road, safely crossing an intersection and how to properly wear a helmet. Presented by the Suffolk County Police Department.
 
Battle of the Books Jr.
(Entering grades 4-5 for the 2019-2020 academic year)

Get ready for a reading rumble! We will be reading Trouble According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney and No Talking by Andrew Clements and compete in a trivia game against our Smithtown Library Buildings. Battle will take place on Thursday, July 25 from 3:00-4:00pm at the Smithtown Library-Smithtown Building. Friends and family are welcome to cheer you and your team on. Registration is in person only; beginning on June 1st. You will receive your books when you come in to register. Please note: you should be available to attend the 2 battle prep days at your library building in addition to the battle day to attend this program.
