Smithtown Building Teen Programs

  Registration requirements for all programs are listed in the description of each program. Teen Services programs are open to those in grades 6-12 (up to age 18) unless otherwise noted.

Decorate to Donate Volunteers
S-Wednesday, February 1 • 7:00-8:00pm
Join us to make seasonal decorations that will be donated to local nursing homes.
 
Bookmark Volunteers
S-Tuesday, February 7 • 4:30-5:30pm
Teen volunteers are needed to design and make bookmarks. Bookmarks will be sent to patrons who are enjoying The Smithtown Library's Homebound Mail Service.
 
Maker Monday
S- Monday, February 13 • 4:00-5:00pm
Start the week off with some hands-on creativity! Learn more about using the LearnLab’s software and equipment to explore your own interests. Staff may present a project, or else you can explore on your own using tutorials to guide you.
 
Anime and Manga Club

Join us to discuss manga, watch anime and enjoy Japanese snacks.
 
Perler Bead Jewelry

Library Mini Golf Volunteers
S-Wednesday, February 22 • 7:00-8:30pm AND S-Friday, February 24 • 5:30-8:00pm
Help the Children’s Department transform our community room into a miniature golf course! Volunteers will help design and decorate the obstacles and assist young children as they play through our course on February 24. Please note: Teens must attend both sessions to receive community service credit.
 
Dungeons and Dragons

Join us for a round of this classic role-playing game! Perfect for players of all skill levels, this campaign will introduce you to the game and its rules while you play. Dice and snacks will be provided.

Teen Take and Make- Ugly Sweater Cookies

Kings Park Building

Bake and decorate a batch of ugly holiday sweater cookies! Pick up your kit at the Smithtown or Kings Park buildings beginning December 5. A prerecorded instructional video will be included with your kit. This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies. In person or telephone registration required. Supplies are available on a first come, first served basis.
