Kings Park Building Teen Programs

  Registration requirements for all programs are listed in the description of each program. Teen Services programs are open to those in grades 6-12 (up to age 18) unless otherwise noted.
Registration for February programs begins on Monday, January 9.
Registration for January programs began on Monday, December 12.
When registering online, please indicate name and grade in the note field.

February Programs

Cozy Winter Mugs
K-Monday, February 6 • 4:00-5:00pm
Use sharpie markers to create the perfect mug for enjoying a warm cup of hot cocoa or tea.
 
Game Buddies Volunteers
K-Wednesday February 8 • 4:00-5:00pm
Play fun board games with a younger child. Each teen will receive one hour community service credit for participating.
 
Book Buddies Volunteers
K-Thursday February 16 • 4:00-5:00pm
Read to a younger book buddy. It is a rewarding experience that you won't want to miss. Each teen will receive one hour community service credit for participating.
 
Baking Buddies Volunteers
K-Tuesday, February 21 • 3:00-4:00pm
Help an elementary school student prepare a baked good. This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies. Each teen will receive one hour community service for participating.
 
Retro Game Night
K-Wednesday, February 22 • 7:00-8:00pm
Kick in old school with a night of retro video and board games. Pizza and snacks will be provided.

 

January Programs

Robot Buddies Volunteers
K-Monday, January 9 • 4:00-5:00pm
Help a younger child code robots. Each teen will receive one hour community service credit for participating.
 
Winter Snow Globes
K-Wednesday, January 11 • 7:00-8:00pm
Create a wintry snow globe to celebrate the season.
 
Book Buddies Volunteers
K-Tuesday, January 17 • 4:00-5:00pm
Read to a younger book buddy. It is a rewarding experience that you won't want to miss. Each teen will receive one hour community service credit for participating.
 
Bookmark Volunteers
K-Thursday, January 19 • 4:00-5:00pm
Teen volunteers are needed to design and make bookmarks. Bookmarks will be sent to patrons who are enjoying The Smithtown Library's Homebound Mail Service. Each teen will receive one hour of community service for participating.
 
Craft Buddies Volunteers
K-Thursday, October 26 • 4:00-5:00pm
Spend an afternoon paired with a younger child for some craft projects. We will be using art materials; please dress appropriately. Each teen will receive one hour community service credit for participating.
