January Programs

Baby Steps

An open-ended playtime for you and your little one. Meet new families and friends while your baby is introduced to various sensory experiences through creative play.
 
Nursery Rhyme Time

Enjoy a traditional time of nursery rhymes and songs for baby. A great introduction to the Library for the youngest of children!

This action-packed program engages little ones in language-based activities; includes free play, stories and fun! Siblings are welcome.
 
Young at Art

Explore and discover art with your toddler through hands-on activities and fine motor fun. Children will take home their own masterpieces. Dress to make a mess.
 
Time for Twos

Visit the Library and enjoy building social skills in a relaxed, friendly environment; includes free play, songs, stories, and a craft. Siblings are welcome.
 
Library Playdate

Seize the play and keep the mess at our place! Join us for an informal play date - meet other children and families, while playing with toys and creating an art project.
 
Art Starts

Different crafts encourage children's hand-eye coordination and gross and fine motor skills development as they explore a variety of materials; includes storytime. Dress to make a mess.

Meet our favorite pup, Bluey! Join us for stories, crafts and a photo opportunity with Bluey.
 
Lunar New Year Celebration

Friends over the globe will celebrate Lunar New Year on February 1. Join in the fun when we read stories and create a dragon craft to bring you luck throughout the year.
 
Once Upon an Author

Join us as we spotlight a favorite children’s author. We will read their stories and create a special project based on one of their books. Dress to make a mess.
 
Sensory Storytime

Enjoy a hands-on approach to learning through exploring our sensory activities and participate in a storytime. The enthusiasm in this program is palpable!
 
Snow Dough - Canceled
(6-8 years)

There is no need to bundle up to play with this snow. Make your own snow dough and bring the outside in.
 
Unbound Art

Celebrate color and texture when we read Unbound: the Life and Art of Judith Scott and unravel and wind your own fiber art masterpiece.
 
Chess and Checkers Buddies

It’s time for a board meeting; play chess and checkers with our teen volunteers. A great opportunity to learn a new game or practice a favorite.
 
Winter Weaving

Take and Make - Busy Bags
(for families with children under the age of 12)
All packed up and ready to go, Busy Bags are filled with crafts, puzzles and activities, suitable for learners of all ages. A new Busy Bag is available at the Nesconset Buildings each month, on the first Tuesday of the month. No registration required. Supplies are available on a first come, first served basis.
