June Programs
 
In-person, online, and telephone registration begins on Tuesday, June 7 at 9:30am.   Registration is required for all programs unless otherwise indicated.
 
 
Take and Make - Busy Bags
(for families with children under the age of 12)
All packed up and ready to go, Busy Bags are filled with crafts, puzzles and activities, suitable for learners of all ages. A new Busy Bag is available at the Nesconset Buildings each month, on the first Tuesday of the month. No registration required. Supplies are available on a first come, first served basis.

Baby’s First Storytime
(Birth-11 months with parent/caregiver)
Friday, July 1 • 10:00-10:30am
Introduce your little one to the Library for the first time. Enjoy simple songs, fingerplays and stories, just for baby. Stay and play afterwards and meet your neighbors.
 
Nursery Rhyme Time

Enjoy a traditional time of nursery rhymes and songs for baby. A great introduction to the Library for the youngest of children. Siblings are welcome.

Bash the Trash

When you can find the beat, recycling is a treat! Using musical instruments made from reused materials, Bash the Trash’s one-of-a-kind performance, filled with fun tunes and amazing instrument demonstrations, sustainably teaches the science of sound.

Battle of the Books Jr.
Fridays, July 22 & 29 • 4:00-4:45pm
(Grades 4-5)
Get ready for a reading rumble! We will be reading The Homework Machine by Dan Gutman and The Friendship War by Andrew Clements and compete in a trivia game against our Smithtown Library Buildings. Battle will take place on Wednesday, August 3 from 3:00-4:00pm at the Smithtown Library-Smithtown Building. Friends and family are welcome to cheer you and your team on. Registration is in person only; beginning on June 1st. You will receive your books when you come in to register. Please note: you should be available to attend the 2 battle prep days at your library building in addition to the battle day to attend this program.

Bicycle Safety Day
(For families with children under the age of 12)

The Smithtown Library and the Suffolk County Police Department invite you to ride our safety track in the parking lot. Learn real world bicycle safety skills, such as where to ride on the road, safely crossing an intersection and how to properly wear a helmet. Bikes, helmets and proper footwear required. Please note: this program will take place outdoors. In the event of rain this program will be cancelled.
