3D Printers at The Smithtown Library

 

Thank you to the Friends of The Smithtown Library for donating 3D Printers to each of our Library buildings.  Patrons can submit requests to have a designed printed.  These requests are reviewed to ensure they comply with the Library's policy, then sent to the requested pick-up location for printing.

Book Buddies Volunteers
Tuesday, September 28 • 4:00-5:00pm
Earn community service by reading to a younger book buddy who is in grade K-grade 2. It is a rewarding experience that you won’t want to miss. Each teen will receive one hour of community service. Register

Chess Buddies Volunteers
Wednesday, October 12• 4:00-5:00pm
Earn community service credit by teaching younger children how to play chess. You do not have to be a chess expert to volunteer! There will be a 30-minute tutorial at the beginning. Each teen will receive one hour of community service.Register
 
Mini Book Necklaces
Wednesday, October 12 • 7:00-8:00pm
Enjoy working with printed book jacket designs, metal hinges, cardboard and glue as you create a mini version of a favorite book and transform it into a fashionable necklace. Mini books open and close and have small page inserts for writing on. Cord is also provided for the necklace. All materials provided by the Library! Register
 
Teen Coloring Café

Join the latest craze… coloring! We will be coloring Mandala designs, listening to music and enjoying snacks! All materials provided by the Library. Register
 
Junior MakerSpace Volunteers

Join this volunteer program and help young children tinker in this one of a kind lab that explores science, simple mechanics, elements of design and other creative projects. Each teen will be paired with child to make a unique creation. Each teen will receive one hour of community service. Register

Join instructor Meredith Cooper as she teaches you the hottest dance moves set to high-energy, Latin-inspired music with Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha, Samba and Hip Hop. Some people think of Zumba as exercise, some as a dance class… we think of it as fun night out! Join the party! Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing and bring a bottle of water. Register

Recycle Station

The Smithtown Library collects the following items for recycling cell phones & eyeglasses.
The Library no longer accepts batteries for recycling. The Town of Smithtown now allows residents to dispose of many household batteries in their garbage. For more information click here.
