The Young Adult Summer Reading Program’s theme for 2015 is Unmasked! If you are a teen entering grade 6-12 you can register at your local Smithtown Library branch on Monday, June 22! The more books you read and activities you complete, the more prizes and raffle tickets you will earn. The raffle tickets can be used to win one of the grand prizes. Be sure to stay tuned for fun filled programs you can sign up for! Programs include craft workshops, volunteer opportunities, baking classes, movie days and nights, and so much more! Stay cool this summer at your Library!

In this club, teens will get their hands dirty as they install and tend a new vegetable garden at the Kings Park Library. We will also learn many aspects of gardening while tending to the beautiful butterfly garden out front. Community service hours will be awarded for hours worked in the gardens. Please dress appropriately for working outside. Thank you to the Kings Park Hardware store for supporting our Teen Gardening Club. Register
 
Battle of the Books
Thursdays, June 11, 18, 25 • 3:30-5:00pm
This County-wide competition is intended for young adults who will be entering grades 6-9 in September of 2014. Teens must read 8 books and answer trivia questions about the books. Tryouts will determine who will make the final team of 6. Register 
 
Paracords for Troops          
Tuesday, June 30 • 7:00-8:00pm
Teens will learn how to makes these paracord bracelets to donate to the troops. Each teen will earn one hour of community service.
 
Make Your Own Minion
Tuesday, July 8 • 4:00-5:00pm
Celebrate the release of the movie Minions by making your own little minion out of clay to take home and bake. All materials will be provided. Register
 
Craft Buddies

Earn community service credit by assisting younger children in making a seasonal craft. Register
 
Superhero Training Academy Volunteers

Join this program and volunteer at different superhero stations. Help children design their own superhero characters and test their skills at our superhero training academy. Register
