A variety of volunteer opportunities will be offered at the Library throughout the year. Each teen will receive one hour of community service. Register
 
Science Buddies Volunteers
Saturday, June 3 • 3:00-4:00pm
Join this innovative program which pairs teens and children to work with simple, but awesome projects that explore science, engineering and math. Teens receive an hour of community service for participating. Register
 
Art Buddies Volunteers
Monday, June 5 • 4:00-5:00pm
Enjoy earning community service by spending an afternoon paired with a younger child for some art projects. Each teen will receive one hour of community service for participatingRegister
 
Living Environment Regents Review
Wednesday, June 6 • 6:00-8:00pm 
Prepare for this year’s regents exams at your Library! Review materials will be given out at the class. Registration begins May 1 for Smithtown residents and May 8 for all out of-district residents. Please note that there are multiple sessions to choose from for some review classes. Make sure you register for the time you are interested in, as switching may not be possible. Fee: $10.00 per person, per class.Register
 
Teen Gardening Club
Mondays, June 5, 12, 19, 26 • 4:00-5:00pm
During this weekly club, teens will get their hands dirty as they plant and tend a vegetable garden at the Kings Park Library. We will learn how to plant, and care for vegetables and herbs that teens will be able to bring home when the time comes to harvest.  Please dress appropriately for working outside. Register
 
Earth Science Regents Review

Earn community service by reading to a younger book buddy.  It is a rewarding experience that you won't want to miss. Each teen will receive one hour of community service. Register
  
Battle of the Books
Thursdays, June 22, 29 • 3:30-5:00pm 
The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Saturday, August 12 at Stony Brook University. Teams will answer trivia questions based on eight different books and score points for their team with each correct answer. To be eligible to participate, you must be entering grades 6-9; you must be able to attend meetings and must be ready for a summer of reading fun. Register
