The Young Adult Summer Reading Program’s theme for 2015 is Unmask! If you are a teen entering grade 6-12 you can register at your local Smithtown Library branch on Monday, June 22! The more books you read and activities you complete, the more prizes and raffle tickets you will earn. The raffle tickets can be used to win one of the grand prizes. Be sure to stay tuned for fun filled programs you can sign up for! Programs include craft workshops, volunteer opportunities, baking classes, movie days and nights, and so much more! In this club, teens will get their hands dirty as they install and tend a new vegetable garden at the Kings Park Library. We will also learn many aspects of gardening while tending to the beautiful butterfly garden out front. Community service hours will be awarded for hours worked in the gardens. This County-wide competition is intended for young adults who will be entering grades 6-9 in September of 2014. Teens must read 8 books and answer trivia questions about the books. Tryouts will determine who will make the final team of 6. Register

So You Want To Make A Comic

So you want learn to make a comic. Well then this class is for you. Armed with pencils, paper and a real comic book script, this three hour crash course will teach you how industry professionals create their sequential stories. With the guidance of comic book illustrators Mina Sanwald you will have everything you need to get started in the world of comics. FEE: $5 per person due at registration. Register
