3D Printers at The Smithtown Library


Thank you to the Friends of The Smithtown Library for donating 3D Printers to each of our Library buildings.  Patrons can submit requests to have a designed printed.  These requests are reviewed to ensure they comply with the Library's policy, then sent to the requested pick-up location for printing.

Kings Park Branch Teen Programs

Battle of the Books
Wednesday, June 1 • 4:00-4:30pm
Thursdays, June 23, 30 • 3:30-5:00pm
The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library.  The competition will take place on Saturday, August 13 at Stony Brook University.  Teams will answer trivia questions based on eight different books and score points for their team with each correct answer.  To be eligible to participate, you must be entering grades 6-9, you must be able to attend meetings and must be ready for a summer of reading fun.  For more information, sign up for the first Battle meeting at the Branch you wish to tryout for.  Register
Garden Markers CANCELLED
Tuesday, June 14 • 7:00-8:00pm
Help decorate the gardens at the Kings Park Branch by creating and decorating cement garden markers. Teens will earn an hour of community service for participating. Please dress appropriately as this program will be messy. Register
Teen Art Studio

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in our Teen Art Studio. This month we will decorate ceramic pendants. All materials will be provided. Register
Geeks and Nerds Everywhere

Calling all geeks and nerds! Join us at our monthly meeting. All fandoms are welcome at G.A.N.E. where we discuss graphic novels, movies, books and television shows. Register

Shark Fin Cake Pops
Tuesday, July 12• 7:00-8:00pm
Celebrate these awesome creatures by learning how to make your very own shark fin cake pops. Teens will make three and take them home in a bakery box. Register
Science Buddies Volunteers
Saturday, July 16 • 3:00-4:00pm
Join this innovative program which pairs teens and children together to work with simple, but awesome projects that explore science, engineering and math. Teens receive an hour of community service for participating. Register
Teen Art Studio

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in our Teen Art Studio. This month we will be making beach necklaces. All materials will be provided. Register
Art Buddies Volunteers
Monday, July 25 • 4:00-5:00pm
Enjoy earing community service by spending an afternoon paired with a younger child for some art projects. Teens receive an hour of community service for participating. Register
Seaside Mirror
Monday, August 1 • 7:00-8:00pm
Teens will enjoy working with sand, paint, shells and crystals as they create a lovely wall mirror with a beach themed vibe. The overall piece measures 6 1/2" in circumference and looks great with any decor. Invite summer into your home with this fun project. Register

Recycle Station

The Smithtown Library collects the following items for recycling cell phones & eyeglasses.
The Library no longer accepts batteries for recycling. The Town of Smithtown now allows residents to dispose of many household batteries in their garbage. For more information click here.
