Mother Goose Rhyme Time

(Birth-35 months with parent/caregiver)
Enjoy a traditional time of nursery rhymes and songs for baby. A great introduction to the Library for the youngest of children! Siblings are welcome.

Wonderful Ones
Fridays, August 22 & 29 • 10:30-11:15am
(12-23 months with parent/caregiver)
This action-packed program engages little ones in language based activities; includes free play, stories and fun! Siblings are welcome.

Time for Twos
Thursdays, August 7 & 14 • 10:30-11:15am
(24-35 months with parent/caregiver)
Visit the Library and enjoy building social skills in a relaxed, friendly environment; includes free play, songs, stories and a craft. Siblings are welcome.

Art Starts
Friday, August 15 • 10:30-11:15am
(2-4 years with parent/caregiver)
Different crafts that encourage children's hand-eye coordination and gross and fine motor skills development as they explore a variety of materials; includes storytime. Dress to make a mess.

Library Playdate
Saturday, August 23 • 10:30-11:15am

Seize the play and keep the mess at our place! Join us for an informal playdate - meet other children and families while playing with toys and creating an art project.

Terrific Threes

Farm Daze

Ice Cream Spectacular

Book Buddies – Little Buddies

(Ages 4 – Grade 2)
Book Buddies is a program in which a child ages 4 years to grade 2 is paired with a teen for a rewarding reading experience! Our teen volunteers will receive community service credit for participation.

Mad Scientist

It's science fair day at the Commack branch! Come on down to see some awesome science experiments like a foam fountain and lava lamp! It may get messy!

Almost Time for Kindergarten

We will be reading Only One You by Linda Kranz which features illustrations of colorfully painted "rockfish." Children will then create a rockfish of their very own! Dress to make a mess.

Artist Trading Cards
Monday, August 18 • 4:30-5:15pm
(Grades 3-5)
Children will learn about different artists and their styles, experiment with different mediums, and build a portfolio of ATCs they've either created themselves or traded with others.

ARTventures

We will be learning about Spanish artist, Joan Miro. We will then use our imagination to create abstract paintings inspired by the artist. Dress to make a mess!

Calling all graphic novel enthusiasts: we are currently looking for members for the Commack Building's Graphic Novel Advisory Team! Meetings will include exclusive first looks at the Library's new graphic novels, cool projects and crafts, and of course, a chance to chat up all things graphic novels with friends! A small snack will be served.

Creation Station

Are you looking for something to do on Saturday? Come to the Library during these hours and complete some cool crafts. No registration required.

Family Movie Matinee
